Windows 10: Firefox Location Bar Solved

    Firefox Location Bar

I have been unable to post to the Firefox Support Website. That is why I am posting this here.

Whenever I type a letter, say "C", in the URL bar I get suggestions for all sites I have recently visited starting with C.
This has just started and I don't want that behavior. I must have changed something in Options to cause this but I can't figure out what I might have been.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

The bottom option changes that (however note this is effectively for an old version of FF, so may be different in a current version)

I know, the question was difference in versions. I still use legacy addons.

Whatever The OP said nothing about a question of versions.

True but you're missing the point of my comment. Ok the long version.

I have version 55 of Firefox, and a current one of Waterfox, a FF fork, which I use for legacy addons.
The current version of FF is much later. I do not have visibility of its GUI. The GUI may have changed between my version and the current version, which I assume the OP is using.

Therefore I made the point that my screenshot is from the old version, in case it was different in the new version.

This for clarity. At least I had hoped so, and apologise for not making it clearer.

In Firefox 61.0 [latest] I went into Tools, Options, Search and scrolled down to this section and unchecked "Provide search suggestions" plus just below that removed all the Search engines I don't use.
