    Check vivaldi://crashes

    Try disabling addons.

    Try installing a fresh copy.

update: been using Vivaldi as main browser for some time now, apart from slow opening at times, it is solid. Not a single major problem.

It has been a known problem for a very long time. Slow startup of Vivaldi | Vivaldi Forum Of course 5 seconds is not a very long time. See this for how to tweak it. How to speed up the Vivaldi web browser - gHacks Tech News The worse part is that it is a Chromium base, based on Opera, which is based on Chromium.

It is not based on Opera but is written by the same person that developed Opera and did not like where it was headed and stared Vivaldi. It is based on Chromium which is open source.

Which Opera is a Chromium based web browser. The developer took the Opera code and developed it into Vivaldi, but it is still a Chromium based browser, based on Opera.

No problems for me either. For a faster launch try:

    Vivaldi Crashing-hdcleaner-version_-1.232.jpg

    or

    Vivaldi Crashing-ccleaner.jpg

    or

    Vivaldi Crashing-speedyfox.jpg

You could also try deleting the pre-configured default bookmarks.

FYI: You can backup your profile in case you need to fully uninstall then reinstall Vivaldi.

Download Hekasoft Backup & Restore 0.81

Try creating a shortcut with the following startup parameter --enable-low-res-tiling

    Vivaldi Crashing-vivaldi.exe-shortcut-properties.jpg

Pin the shortcut to taskbar and click to launch.
