Hi, what is this set to?
(And while there. this?
and does Mail work normally if you launch it?
From the extensive Tutorial section it's worth being aware of:
Windows 10 Tutorial Index | Windows 10 Tutorials
see
Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials
Search for
mailto
under Option 2 & follow the instructions under Option 2.
I have found settings then gone into Apps and Features but not sure where to go to from there?
You original post said- since you're not using Windows Vista (which had Windows Mail)- I assumed you meant the Mail app. It appears your requirement in your first post has been met.my email program Windows Mail
Where does Outlook come into this? Which client do you actually wish to use?
Step by step- what is it you hope to have happen?
Sorry....since the recent update from MS my mail is having issues.......I use Outlook but on my PC (even though I have an online account in Outlook)........my mail comes to my pc....I am happy with Outlook......may have said Windows Mail by mistake....
1. I cant click on email links (@.......) online and have my Outlook program start up....Gmail starts up instead (see snap below of what happens when I click on an online email)
2. Sometimes when I click on links in my emails (http://www......) Word starts up.
3. When it says in some emails "view this email in a browser" it doesnt take me to my Chrome browser
4. Somehow (I think its GMail?), another mail program on my pc has forced its way in that keeps bugging me saying its out of date?
I'm trying to understand what you are doing.
I think you now want mailto to open the Chrome browser to handle Outlook.com as web mail (not Outlook, the Office email client).
That's very different to what you first posted.
How to Change the Default Email Program for Mailto: Links

may give you some ideas.
I know there are posts on this forum addressing this topic by people who've done this but can't immediately find one. Now that the problem has (I think) been defined, hopefully someone who's done this will comment.
E.g. post #2
Opening up mail link in Default browser - Windows 10 Forums
Please clarify.
Are you
a. Using Outlook.com in a web browser?
or
b. Using Outlook, the MS email client.
Your references are very inexact. I have given you solutions
a. to open Mail
b. to open Chrome which you mentioned
Now you want, it seems, Outlook, the email client.... I'm confused, and will leave this to someone else.
