    Tracking Received Email Sender

    This issue has been resolved.

We receive greeting emails about four times a year from a 40+ year old immediate relative who I am concerned may be using email for seriously unlawful and immoral purposes. We been in self denial.

Is there anyway I or a skilled person or agency can legally investigate.

It probably can be traced, probably start with the person's ISP. They can read the header of the message as can you but deciphering will need their skill. Don't forget that the person's E-Mail address may have been phished by someone else or a company and used to send messages.

Please help me understand who is "they". I would not be surprised if this original sender be a part of a "ring" of multiple such unlawful users.

"They" I referred to is the support people at the subscriber's ISP/Internet Service Provider and their E-Mail team.

Tell the Police. They "can legally investigate this important matter".
