    Change Windows default email action?

I used Gmail in Chrome to send/receive my email. When I click on an email address that is on a website or anywhere else, Windows by default opens it's own email window and wants me to use that rather than Gmail to send & receive messages. I want no part of that and would like to shut off Windows bringing up that Window by default or better yet bring up my Gmail/Chrome window. How do I shut off this default? Suggestion, please.

    Thanks in advance... Bob

Hi, this question or similar has been addressed previously in a number of threads. The problem is defining the mailto action, normally reserved for an email client such as Mail, which I think you may be referring to, or Thunderbird etc.

    Try e.g.
Opening up mail link in Default browser - Windows 10 Forums

Note: as Windows builds move on, some details of the GUI or features may change.

Are you saying I am out of luck? What I am requesting can't be done? You don't directly answer my question,.

When you open gmail, there should be a tiny icon in the address bar, click on it and select Allow - Done.

Once you click on an email in the browser, it should open it in the browser/gmail.
