I had the same issue as the OP last week on another PC (not mine).
I'd updated it to W10 1803, FF 60.0.1 was working fine, but last weeks FF update to 60.0.2 has caused launch issues.
End task in TM and re-launch generally works, but it's not 100%.

I have tried everything that I have ever learned or have knowledge of to get this problem sorted. Firefox installs apparently, however, it does not show up in the Task manager, even though all files appear in this latest try,in programs x 64.

When icon is pressed, even set to run as administrator, Firefox just does not open! In task manager there is no sign of it at all.

Scouring the web,it appears that others have this same problem. Using Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge to find information on this problem, will find articles covering the problem, however, with either of these 2 browsers, is it not funny that the threads are "Locked" when you try to open them in order to find solutions.

Is this Microsoft up to it's old tricks once again? Trying successfully to block Firefox, in this instance?

I had previously removed version 1803 replacing it with a backup of version 1709 which cleared up problems with crashing etc;etc. I then left version1803 suspended from re-installation for a period of time whence it reinstalled itself more successfully this week minus a lot of the previous bugs. However, whether it be version 1709 or version 1803, Firefox will not start up at all and does not appear in Task manager anywhere.
Going to Mozilla help is a waste of time as in their typical fashion there are page upon page of hands off advice, unfortunately, the bloody browser has to be open in the first instance to put advice into practice. Rubbish!!:

Hence my question, is Microsoft blocking this procedure?

Try Waterfox for comparison - Firefox fork.

Hi. Waterfox similar to Firefox, I grant you. At least it works which is more than Firefox does.
I note it is using Legacy add-ons.

I will give it a try. Many thanks.

Well done Dalchina. Using Waterfox is like old times. Sort of a blast from the past.

I wonder how long it will last before Mozilla /Firefox intervene and force out all Legacy add-ons from working, as they usually do.

Starting to enjoy using this browser. Fingers crossed.
