Why on Earth Would Chrome Have 22 Processes Running

I have a habit of looking at task manager regularly when the computer is on particularly when I feel warm air coming out of the right hand side "mouse" vent. When I looked just now I saw this?? At the most I have only ever seen 4 or 6 at a time. What the hell do you think that's all about : )

Chrome is up to date BTW.

    Hi,
Look at how many add-ons you have installed
Besides that just pure chrome bloat.

Mine currently has 16 processes with three tabs open. Each tab and I believe each addon has its own process.

I am sure Chrome is running fine though since you have 16Gb of ram. More than enough to handle most software.

Only three. One if which is disabled. I know about the bloat but like I said I have never seen that many before

Yeah, nothing really running except Chrome and MEMORY hovers right around 30% in use just about where it always does when doing emails and light browsing and there is no slow down. I guess the number of processes just caught me by surprise since I had never seen that many open before. i normally only have 2 - 5 tabs open.

They just separate processes but even if it was only one it would still take and use same amount of resources. Seems to be a trend, Firefox is doing same thing now but total resources use is down, less RAM, disk and CPU load.
Just look at total resources used, details display is not important.

Enable 'Command line' in Task Manager to see what services are engaged...

also, open Chrome's Task Manager and 'End' unnecessary items...

Well that's new to me : ) I opened that up and and saw Chrome's running processes though the number differed from the number I see when I open the OS Task Manager.

I did not find a way to do that that is to see the option for "command line" that you show in your picture. TIA.

Damn...all this time and I had no clue. I opened up both FF and Chrome to verify (settings - extenions/plugins)....and sure enough, every tab and process is accounted for.
