gmail rejects password and constantly sends alerts...how to stop?

Suddenly I can't use the Thunderbird settings I've had for such a long time. Google (gmail) is driving me away with
far too many alerts, block on my pop email and demand for web logon.

Is there any way I can fix this and get G to stop sending me security checks all the time? (Seriously it is way over the top!)

Have you set Let less secure apps access your account?

Their current advice about pop & smtp setting up is at Read Gmail messages on other email clients using POP - Gmail Help I mention this purely because I cannot see your smtp settings in the diagrams you posted. This guidance also applies to setting up Outlook 2007 for use with gmail; guidance on setting up an outlook.com email adddress with Outlook 2007 is given in several places including Adding an Outlook.com account to Outlook.

You might want to blank out your email address from your posted diagrams then repost them. I understand that email addresses can be harvested even if they are within graphics.

Thanks Try3 - went to remove name from attachements as you suggested (good suggestion) but don't know how to either delete post and re-post or delete attachments and remove personal address before re-posting.

When you edit your post look at the bottom of the page for " Manage attachments " ( or something similar ) and you can delete it there.
