In case it was misunderstood. I can and already have gone to Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet options > General tab > Home page > change it to www.google.ca> Apply/OK....
My "beef" is not able to Remove Bing from the Search providers list.
No, it is you that have misunderstood. You cannot remove Bing as a search provider until you set something else as the default provider - and you can't do that from the 'Find more search providers...' link because it points to the wrong address. Setting Google as your home page is not the same as setting it as a search provider.

You can set Google as a search provider if you manually type in this address into IE https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/iegallery

Reset IE to default settings and start the process all over and see what happens.

I knew that. The catch is I can NOT select another search provider. I got 404 Server Error.
Are you using an ad blocker or anti tracking?
Try turning that stuff off temporarily then.

This is another perfect example of why I don't use IE or Edge.......MS makes it so convoluted to add/remove anything from any part of the system. If there was a way to completely uninstall both I would.

I'll stick with Firefox as default browser and Chrome as my backup.

Quite, but the point you made in that post was apparently overlooked.

I never had to do that,I used to click the Find more search providers and it would lead to the list for search providers.
Apparently it has been changed since the last time I made such a switch. But you are right.
Now Bing (YUK!) is removed. Google is the lone and default search provider.

    To: Cliff S

There is still this lingering "bug" in my head and I need your clarification.

You said " Worked for me: and brought me here: Internet Explorer Gallery"

Were you able to click the "Fine more search providers" link and it led you to the selection page ?
If yes, why I got 404 Server Error instead ?
I know what Bree said to me. I just want to clear that with you.

David, that is the same URL you are sent to when you click 'Find more search providers'. I'm not sure why you are getting the 404. It worked fine on my ie.
