Windows 10: PayPal homepage not being rendered correctly after latest update.

PayPal homepage not being rendered correctly after latest update.

This afternoon my PC rebooted while I was away from it. I assumed that it was due to an update.

A little while after I wanted to log in to PayPal but the page wasn't rendered correctly. It had everything down the left side in a list.

I checked my Windows details. They are
    Windows 10 HomeVersion 1803 OS build 17134.48Installed on 01/05/2018

According to that date there wasn't an update, so what might the reboot be due to?

More importantly what makes a web page appear like that?

Seems fine on Edge. Try a diff browser or post screenshot.

    Thank you mrgeek

I get this same screen on Edge, IE 11,
    SRWare iron, and Google.

It's related to the site host error. I get something like that screen, occasionally on a site that I frequent daily but the graphics usually come back in a day or two. I can still hit the links on the page and work though.

I typed in paypal.com/uk/home and though I get two different start pages but they render just fine. The first is from Chrome and the second from Edge. Try it in built in MS Edge and see if it makes a difference. If not, just wait a couple days for the host error to resolve itself.

Otherwise you could try a diff DNS server. - https://www.howtogeek.com/167533/the...ur-dns-server/
    Good Luck

    Thank you Josey and mrgeek.

I did try it in Edge.

I haven't had Firefox installed for a while.

I wouldn't feel comfortable changing the DNS server, it's something I've never crossed swords with, so I will just wait and see if it sorts itself out.

Usually when this happens to me I have to clear cache and cookies, and then everything returns to normal.

    Thank you Bobby

I had cleared cookies but forgot about the cache. Never mind, when I came to try the site again it was working well.

I came upon this problem yesterday and today, it resolved itself, as usual. On one browser fork, though, I had to allow it thru the adblocker ext.

For quite a few months I haven't any problems. There was a time when I never knew what the devil was going to happen when I next booted. It' so much better now.
