    Why is Chrome in my Startup list?

    Lately when I turn on PC it goes thru the usual startup process, but then it opens Google Chrome to either a blank web page or a previously opened page?

    So I went to Task Manager > Start up and saw this?
    How did Chrome get into my Startup folder?
    Is it ok to simply delete

    Not sure what version of Chrome you are running. Earlier version when installing, they have an option to make Chrome run at start up if you did not uncheck it. Just right click on it from the startup->disable.

    Running Ver 66.0.3359.1396.03359.139

    I just checked; I don't have 'continue where you left off' checked.

    I guess my question is; Is this expected behaviour for Chrome?

    Or has some web site done this?

    I recently installed chrome and did not have an entry in startup. However, I've seen cases that some chrome installer will do that. It is really unnecessary to have it run at startup & is easy to get rid of by download: WhatInStartup - Disable/delete programs at Windows startup
    This is a small portable program, run it and delete it permanently.

    In chrome settings, advance settings.......scroll down to where you see "continue running background apps when google chrome is closed" is disabled.

    Update;

    So I disabled Chrome in start up. This did not fix.

    Then I removed an app in Chrome called 'Videostream' which I downloaded before but have never used. This removed Chrome
    from start up.
