Share Outlook.com Calendar with Native iOS Calendar App

I'm trying to separate my personal (iCloud) and work (Outlook.com) calendars. Because I work varying shifts and have a lot of work requirements (meetings, lectures, etc.), my wife needs to view these when she is scheduling things.

I found the share calendar option (which is not present in the Outlook Beta view by the way), but I cannot get it to show on her Apple Calendar app. Instead, the email wants you to download the Outlook app.

Not sure if this is even possible. Any tips or articles that can show how to do this? Google seems to point to everything but a way to do it with the Apple Calendar app, which makes me think it's not possible.

    Thanks!

Surprised you didn't get a response. I found this thread searching for sync issues relating to the exactly this type of setup, e.g. syncig/viewing an Outlook.com shared calendar within the native iOS calendar. We've had issues with syncing, but it is possible. She would need to create an Outlook.com account if she doesn't have one already and accept a shared calendar invitation there within Outlook. Then use those Outlook.com credentials to add it to iOS on the phone natively and subscribe to that shared calendar in the iPhone Calendar.

Incidentally, the "Share Calendar" option should appear in Outlook Beta view by the way, in the upper right-hand corner near the beta-view on/off switch. Also, to add a shared calendar from an internet source is in a different spot now (as is the MS way), found in the "Discover Calendars" link in the lower-left. This is in the Beta view for Outlook.com calendar.

I was able to switch to the non-beta view and use her iPhone to subscribe to the calendar. It updates every few hours and so far seems to be working correctly.

That's good to know. Several of the events my brother-in-law added in our setup (same sort of thing) eventually showed up in the morning. I wonder if there is a way to increase the sync frequency - it was so slow we simply thought it was broken.

Does the way you've set it up allow for adding entries to that shared calendar on her iPhone, or is it read-only?

@eyewanders It's read only. There was some option where you could refresh every 15 mins, 1 hour, 12 hours, etc. I think I set it for 4 hours.
