    Can't type in Edge

Having trouble with my Chrome browser, so I uninstalled it and opened Edge to download installer to reinstall and I can't type in Edge. Everything seems to work fine. I can click on any link and it will open right up but I can not type in the address bar or search box.

Could be, that you lock out keyboard - don't know about Toshiba, but HP has a key above touchpad..

Also, could be you activated tablet mode.

    Tablet mode is not on.
Yes, I can copy and paste in Edge.
I don't know what you mean about the "lock out keyboard" statement. I don't use my touchpad. I prefer the keyboard and that's what I use.

Sorry, please disregard that comment. It's for locking touchpad. I should read your description more carefully.

Is you keyboard working in other apps (i.e. notepad?), or is it Edge exclusively?

Do you have any crash reports for Edge in Reliability history? For checking it, click Start and type reliability, it should appear.

    also check this:
    - sfc /scannow (in admin command prompt) returns any errors?
    - any special programs you're running .Search returns that "parallels" users have this problems (have no idea what that software is) it's working for them to bring up language bar solve the problem (ruin ctfmon.exe)

    Reset did not help.
I don't think I'm running any special programs, but did not understand the rest of what you said. Are you telling me to bring up a language bar?
I've already run the sfc /scannow and no integrity errors found.
I get nothing when I type reliability into the start box.

Yes, bringing up the language bar helps some users with similar problem.

Reliability history is in Control panel / Security and maintenance.
I get this, when searching in Start:

May bring up useful information about what is happening:
