I kept an open mind and gave Edge a chance, but I live in the Google universe now, and it just makes sense to stay with Chrome.

I cannot find a compelling reason to switch to Edge. It offers nothing Earth-shattering when it comes to features. I don't see the point of writing on a web page--I have never done that, and I don't plan to.
You've never wanted to annotate something, and save it for later? You've never had to save a page and print it out, marking It up for others to notice things? I'm sure you can see how that would be useful for those situations.

Regardless, for me the big earth shattering features is using about 1/10th the memory of every other browser out there, especially Chrome.

But you've got to be curious just how much memory it's going to use once it's actually full featured, I know I am although I don't need to really concern myself with how much memory it uses as the only thing that's come close to using the 16GB of RAM on my computer is one particular video game that I play where it uses 12GB at times..

I have been using mostly Edge the last few weeks, a couple sites I still need IE for, when I use it now, it seems clunky and slow. In my experience since I've been using Edge, it's definitely the faster of the two.

Wish there would be constant small updates for Edge, improving and adding features here and there, and bringing back some features of IE.

Still have trouble with the task bar not hiding if I open any other browser but Edge, once that happens I have to reboot to get that function working again. I'm thinking it could be because I'm still dual booting 7 and 10 and haven't upgraded to 10 yet on my desktop (still insider on the desktop). I did upgrade on my laptop, had Win7 Pro now have W10 Pro and no problem with task bar hiding regardless of the browser I use.

Thanks Mystere for your explanations of how things work in the forum/HTML/browser world.

In my previous Windows 8.1, I could regularly be using 6-10GB of memory just in browser tabs. Now I barely crack 2G even at the worst.

Yeah well, I'm suitably impressed with the memory use of Edge... Opening the same exact URL's in both Edge and Chrome I see that Chrome uses 90MB, and Edge only uses 30MB.

I don't quite understand how Edge manages that since with only one tab open it was using 25MB but now with a total of 5 tabs open it only needed to add an additional 5MB of memory to do that. But the lack of pleasantry features to me just doesn't make it worth it for my style of browsing. I rarely will have more tabs open than fit along the top of the browser when set to 1920 width when the tabs are not starting to compress. So I can't even imagine how many tabs would need to be opened to use 10GB. Then again with my slower broadband speeds, I wouldn't want to open any browser that already has 30+ tabs open and have to load all of them up from scratch each time I opened my browser.

Anyway, I would expect Edge's memory footprint to rise as it becomes more feature rich and adding extensions too.

. I have Norton Virus and Edge is incompatible with it. A lot of my web pages will not load in Edge. I do not know what they did with IE 11 but some pages that previously loaded in Windows 8.1 with IE11 now do not load in Windows 10. I have a Zino account where you can read digital magazines such as PC World. Under Windows 8.1 I could read them in IE11. With Windows 10 all I get is a white page when I try to view a magazine. Had to install Chrome to view them. Beginning to think I should have stayed with Windows 8.1.
    Bolded section 1...

This is nortons problem to catch up and make there AV compatable with Edge, Not the other way around.

    Bolded section 2...

This is up to zino to update there systems to support Edge...Not the other way around.

It is the same every time a new browser comes along.

They have to add support for that browser and it's a pain for them but it's there responsibility to do it.

Personally I like Edge. It's fast and does everything I want it to.

And you are exactly who Microsoft designed Edge for. (no offense intended or implied).
