    windows live mail 2012

    Hi
I have just installed windows 10 upgrade and everything is fine but my email. I use WLM 2012 for work with my work signature on it and it wont work properly.

It seems to give this error message when i try and send " the message cannot be sent an error has occured". When i look at the inbox messages that were in there from windows 7 its all ok but the messages that tried to come through after i installed 10 show this " Message could not be displayed
Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again."

Clearly im not low on memory or disk space. So i cant send or receive mail, even though the send receive works ok.

I have tried SCANNOW and it found nothing wrong and compatibility in windows 7 and 8 and still it wont work. If i try and open it in windows 10 it wont even open, if i do it compatible in windows 7 it will open but wont send or receive anything.

Have you tried your ISP's Webmail/online E-Mail to verify your account is still good? Could be they have a page with setup instructions which Win10 may have changed.

    Hi
No i am using the default email client for windows 10 and it works fine, but the problem is i had my companies signature all stored in the signature to send emails with pics etc on WLM and the default client of windows 10 wont let you do html signatures etc, just text.

It begars belief that in 2015 you cant do a company logo and signature but in 2010 you could. I rely on this for my job through emails.

WLM is still installed but wont send emails full stop. It worked fine on windows 7.

Your mention of "companies signature" does suggest the use of Microsoft Outlook would be the better choice in your situation. WLM does have some limitations and the Win10 default Mail may have the same or more. The Win10 Mail wanted to set me up with my Hotmail.com and Outlook.com accounts but I am passing on that for now.

I use WIndows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 10. I used it for various preview builds, and now on the released version. (That last is a clean install.)

I don't use a signature. WLM seems work well with Gmail (IMAP) and an account through my ISP (also IMAP).

I have no suggestions to offer on what your problem might be. What I'd do is make note of the account settings, uninstall WLM, and then re-install it. If your mail servers use IMAP, your accounts will be restored, although it may take a while if you (like me) have more than 15 years of emails in the system. (My main gripe with WLM is that I've never found a way to backup and restore its archives. The export and import feature seems to restore the files, but not the archive structure.)

I haven't spent much time on the client included with Win10, but it wasn't obvious that it had similar search capabilities as WLM. I'd prefer Outlook, but I so far have resisted buying it. (I have the home version of MS Office 2010, which does not include Outlook.)
