    Best Browser

Since this forum needs some activity, thought I would make a post. :)

The following is an excerpt from a lengthy article on ZDNet. The complete article gives more detail on browsers and tests performed, though not in a reader-friendly format, imo.

    What does all this mean?

It means there is no top dog web browser today. There is, however, a clear failure: IE 11. No one should be running IE 11 on any version of Windows. It simply can't compete.

As for the others, even when the benchmarks showed a wide performance difference, I could barely see any real world differences between them.

So, which web browser should you get?

It depends on which browser ecosystem works best for you. I use a lot of Google programs, so it's Chrome for me. Are you wedded to Windows? Use Edge then. Do you like what Firefox has been doing? Then go ahead and use it. Want something a bit different? Use Opera.

Just don't buy the hype that one or the other kicks the other's rump when it comes to raw speed. They don't.

What a poorly conducted / reported set of tests by ZDNet

Para 3 of the ZDNet article - "I put the most popular Windows 10 browsers to the test. These were Windows 10's built-in Edge 41 and the increasingly decrepit Internet Explorer (IE) 11" - So he had already written his conclusions before he started testing.

Under the heading, "What does all this mean?" of the ZDNet article -
1 He states that "No one should be running IE 11 on any version of Windows" without providing a single piece of evidence to justify this statement.
2 He states that "As for the others, even when the benchmarks showed a wide performance difference, I could barely see any real world differences between them" but does not offer any 'real world' assessment of IE11.

Color me Firefox, it's best by far , Chrome will never see a place in my machines.
But seriously folks, this is same as Intel vs. AMD issue. Will never be resolved !!! User's preference only.

I use Chrome for leisure and work. It works the way I want and I like the ability to sync across devices.
