Windows 10 Mail how to setup contacts?

I do not like the default mail app in Windows 10. I bought my mom a new computer and she is moving from Windows Live Mail 2012 to this.

No support for email groups (she blasts out email forwards to her friends in a group). I managed to find a workaround by creating a contact and putting in several email addresses separated by a semi-colon in the email field. That seems to work, but there is probably a character limit for larger groups. Unbelievable oversight by MSFT.

The main issue is how Windows 10 handles contacts. Is there a way to import contacts directly into the people app? My only option seems to be going onto outlook.com, bringing up the web version of people, then importing the old .csv into there. It works and I can see all of her contacts when using outlook.com, but they do not appear in the mail app. When I open up the people app they appear, but when I start a new message and click on the little person in the TO, CC, or BCC field, there are only 2 or 3 names that show up. It does not autofill contacts directly from the people app. The people app settings are not limited to phone numbers and all accounts are checked off. The lack of options and settings in the app are awful. You can't even right click on a message and say "add sender to people" you have to do it manually, or "hope" that it automatically adds people when you contact them (it hasn't been doing that).

Hi, you don't HAVE to use MS's Mail app. You can install and use a 3rd party program if you wish...

When MS changed from Outlook Express to WinMail, then nothing I gave up on MS email offerings.

Does Windows Live Mail 2012 run on 10? I had read that it was no longer supported.

I just downloaded & installed http://www.oeclassic.com/ & so far I like it. Takes me back to the days of XP Pro with Outlook Express.

MS basically wants you to buy Outlook the desktop application, so they are not going to make the Mail App too comprehensive.

You need to go in to the People settings and configure from where those Contacts come from.
    Also in the Windows Settings.
    > Privacy > Contacts > Let Apps access my contacts, make sure Email and Accounts is on.
    Also
    > Privacy > Background Apps > On, make sure Mail and People is On.

"Does Windows Live Mail 2012 run on 10? "
No longer supported, so don't go that route to nowhere.

WLM 2012 is not giving any problems on one of my client's 2 Win10 64-bit Home computers.

Have 6 Email Accounts, 2 of those never worked properly in WLM 2012 many years ago, wasted time again and again on that one, so it was not particularly good.

I was able to setup Windows Live Mail 2012 on the computer. So far it works fine. We'll see. It seems to have problems syncing up the folders with IMAP. Trying to download hundreds of emails in the "deleted folder"....WLM stopped working. After you restart multiple times it seems to get the downloads complete on first setup. So far so good. Too many missing features from W10 mail. I would try one of the other email clients if I did much serious emailing from my personal computer, but I have Outlook on my work machine.
