    the Thunderbird email client, but while it handles all 4 of their email accounts, it shows them as 4 separate inboxes in the Thunderbird app.
    This depends on how you configure Thunderbird. I have multiple accounts, 1 inbox. It is one I recall struggling with for a time last time I added an account.

    Thanks for the great responses!

    Unfortunately they don't have MS Office, so don't have Outlook. But the "linked inbox" option in the Windows 10 Mail app looks promising. I will have to look into that. Now I just have to get them off of their old Windows 7 PC and onto a new PC running Windows 10. They have been borderline on pulling the trigger but if I can meet their email desires with Windows 10, I think it will seal the deal.

    Interesting. I will have to dig a bit deeper into Thunderbird. So far I have found it to be fairly capable, but not easy to figure out once you get past the basics. The documentation on their web pages isn't all that great.

    I think it's there.. on a per account basis.

    There's another approach too:
    How to Read Emails in a Unified Inbox in Thunderbird
    (I searched for
    thunderbird set global inbox
    )

    And see
    How can I read my incoming emails in one folder?Like I do in Live mail and Outlook express. | Thunderbird Support Forum | Mozilla Support

    (I searched for
    thunderbird unified folders
    )

    dalchina: Excellent stuff! You are obviously better at digging through Thunderbird and their support pages than I am. Many thanks!

    - just thinking of the search terms is the trick.. let Google or similar do the rest. I'd not come across unified folders before so I've learnt sthg... and used Tbird for 3-4 years.
