For some reason I cannot explain, Firefox is not seen as a registered application on your machine. I would suggest the following:

Go to this site and choose the correct full installer for your language and architecture (EN-US, x64):

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Download Firefox in your language — Mozilla

    Or the direct link:

    https://download.mozilla.org/?produc...n64&lang=en-US

    Download the installer:

Make firefox as default app for "web browser"-2018-03-23_11h11_12.png

Do an in-place install right over your existing Firefox 59.0.1. Not necessary to uninstall it first. Hopefully, that will re-register it correctly and it will show up as a choice.

If that does not correct it, uninstall FF and completely reinstall clean with the downloaded file.

Thanks for your input. I just updated my Firefox 58 to 59 in place to start with.
That loaded pages bad. I had to disable hardware acceleration. To avoid that I went for clean install.
When I went initially to Mozilla for download, it was firefox installer which downloaded 32 bit version.
Then in search, I downloaded 64 bit version from
    Download Firefox 59.0.1 64-bit - FileHippo.com.

Now I downloaded from the Mozilla link for 64bit us-En given by you. Both files from filehippo and mozilla are same s shown by size 37.5 MB or 39353920 bytes.
I installed that file only as admn. Even then Firefox is not registered as application in my machine.
Then I using my Macrium image reverted back. Now I have Firefox 58. Though I get notification for update, I did not update. Now what to do?
