    new contacts not useable

Windows 10 mail. I can create a new contact and it appears in the list of people: however; if I want to send a new email to that new address (New-then type in the first letters of the name- that address does not offer itself.
Does anyone know the possible reasons for that?

    Hi thesaint2

I've seen this in outlook.com using a browser. It won't acknowledge until I refresh browser, F5 or close page and reopen.

I don't use this app much but I would think the next time it syncs mail the address will be available. You could try the sync icon although it says sync this view.

While not a working solution you could try this. Add a fake address then close the mail app and restart the app. If the address is immediately there I think it would confirm a timing issue.

Have to see what members you use app say.

Do they ever work, say half an hour later?

The Mail App and People App(Contacts) are separate but linked.
I would go through your Windows settings to make sure they are both running in the background.

    Settings > Privacy > Email > People > On
    Settings > Privacy > Background Apps > Mail/People > On.

On each Email Account go to settings > Change mailbox sync settings and make sure Contacts is On > done > Save.
Make sure the Mail App and Contacts App are up to date by going to the MS Store.
    After that lot Restart.
It may take a while depending on what your Sync settings are.

At the end of the day you can uninstall both Apps and get them from the MS Store again. There is a tutorial on here on how to do that.

I do use the Mail App.

    Good Morning Ken & Helmut,
Ken, the "Mail" contacts list works for all current contacts - but not for newly inserted contacts, even after a reset of the laptop.

Helmut, Thanks for your suggestions, I will try them as soon as I get a chance.

Glad its working. I looked for reset but could not find.

I went settings, Accounts, email & app accounts. Couldn't find a reset, found manage.

    Was your process different?

    Thanks for posting your solution.

    Goody.
The Reset option was in my version of the Mail App about 6 months ago, but currently it's not there.

MS seem to try out features on users. Currently here the left side Accounts list has a "boing" visual effect when selecting Accounts.

To reach "reset" I followed this path:- Windows Start Icon - Windows Settings - Apps - Mail & Calendar - Advanced Options - Reset
