Windows v1709 and cookie handling changed?
Hello,
In the past I have always used CCleaner to clean my IE 11 and Edge cookies and have noticed lately that after using CCleaner I was still signed into sites that I should no longer have been signed into. So I checked the cookie deletion results log and noticed that all the cookie files that CCleaner used to detect are no longer found, just a deprecated cookie. I can still delete the cookies using the default Internet Options method but any third-party cleaning app like Glary utilities or the aforesaid CCleaner no longer work. The same goes for Edge cookies as well.
Before anyone mentions it: 1. I do not have any cookies set to keep in CCleaner. 2. Sync settings in Windows is turned off.
I have used the shell:cookies command to open up INetCookies with "Hide operating system files" unchecked and there are only three folders, DNTException, Low and PrivacIE and a container.dat file. No cookie .txt files anywhere.
I don't know whether this is some malfunction affecting just my PC or if this has anything to do with the Fall Creator's update.
Has v1709 changed how cookies are handled now?
