That's not bad. I would be happy with 5.1. I am not even stable at 5 dam it! What kind of voltage are you using for 5.1 if you don't mind me asking? I know for sure my cooling is not good enough for any high voltage. I may have to think about some other kind of cooling at some point.
Hey Mike, do you have the Intel Protection Plan bought for the chip? I buy it for mine all the time. Great peace of mind. No questions asked warranty really. I have used it twice over the years.
For me I don't care about voltage, I care about temps. The amt of time you are pushing the chip at high voltage is really very minimal in the big scheme of things. Controlling temp will let you get the higher clocks imho.
No Dave I didn't even know they had a Intel Protection Plan that I could buy. Think its too late now to look into it.
I agree to a point on voltage, but Temps are the main thing to watch I agree. There are some chips, that run with less voltage at same speed as I run thou. I didn't win the lottery in that area. Also thinking about delidding this chip.....which would void any Intel warranty anyhow.
That IPP is a great feature for guys that like to push their chip. Another thing is that both times I availed myself of the plan I got awesome clocking chips back from Intel.
They even let you accept a charge against your CC and they will ship the new chip immediately. When they get back the dead chip they just drop the charge.
