    Hi,
All my 7900x scores like seeing the extra 4 core bumps

4.9Ghz @1.220V That's pretty awesome for an 8700K right? I could not get my previous 8700K stable at anything less than 1.280 - 1.3V. Very nice @ThrashZone

Looks like your using manual voltage, switch to Offset Matt ....much cooler performance.

    Hi Mike,

No I'm actually already using adaptive voltage + offset... I just set the Windows power plan from balanced to performance during benchmarks so the CPU stays at full speed... I don't really understand the purpose of the offset in adaptive mode. I just set it to 1.20V with an offset of 0.001V. Is the offset for what you want the voltage at when the CPU boosts?

I think Cliff could explain it better, than me. He was the one that suggested I use Offset mode instead of Manual. I've tried both methods and under Offset my cpu runs cooler, with everything else being equal. Takes me a couple tries dialing in the exact voltage to use thou. I use Cinebench 20 ....to test after I tweak the voltage. Not 15.... If it passes on 20, I'm happy camper.

I think there are three voltage modes but I've forgotten their names. Is it manual, adaptive and offset? I was sure adaptive mode was the only mode that can let the CPU down clock during idle and that's why I use it. Not sure about offset mode if that is a select- able mode... Do you mean the CPU runs cooler during idle or load?

Your correct, there are 3 modes. I never use adaptive mode. Actually sometimes its even removed for a choice on my Apex X board. Only 2 I've used is Manual and OFFSET ....

And Yes my cpu runs cooler under idle and stress. And I do a lot of benching ...in the Winter.
    Don't use Adaptive mode....
