Well I've played with turning off those settings Cliff, only for Cinebench thou.
VT-d [Disabled] is OFF by default on my board.
Intel Virtualization Technology is ON by default.
Turning off Intel Virtualization Technology results in a Very Low Score on Cinebench on my rig. I mean Really poor score too!!!
It may help with other benchmarks but for Cinebench, don't touch it.
When I get my 2080Ti back from Nvidia, I'll test it on my other benchmarks, but for Cinebench scores, its hurts my score a lot.
Should get my 2080 back this week.
Your rig is water cooled.....mine is not, only my CPU is using the Corsair H115i You have a MUCH better cooling system then me.
I turn off VT because it uses cpu resources for something I never use.
Intel Virtualization Tech is off on my rig.
I just tried CB with it on and off, no change in score.
C'mon now. Neither the chip or cooling play a part here.
Of course the chips score differently, and of course cooling plays a part in the score. But neither should matter from the perspective of changing a particular bios setting.
The only way that it would matter would be if your chip handles IVT in an entirely different manner than my chip. I don't think they do, but not 100% sure on that Mike.
Well only changing ONE setting which is the Intel Virtualization Tech switch, gives me a really low score. Plus on my rig its always been ON, as I've never turned it off, and I've always had the best OC scores in the 9900k class. Only one I can't beat is you. And that is because your CPU is better, and your custom water cooling.
My rig is different than yours....but still dam fast.
