I figured out why 3DMark was crashing for me and I'm a little . It's because of Precision XOC 6.0.8 running with the OSD display. I tried running 3DMark without Antivirus, nope, reinstalled 3DMark 3 times, nope, underclocked the card, nope.
Today I exited 6.0.8 and voila, 3DMark ran to completion. It was a lucky guess because I have never had issues with Precision XOC before. Now I'm thinking (maybe) that the two times I artifacted in game was because of 6.0.8 and had nothing to do with the FTW 1080. One of those times was in BF1 and now I'm hearing that the latest XOC is having issues with BF1, especially in DX12.
Dude: here is my Timespy score with the latest Nvidia driver and reverting back to XOC 6.0.7. Does this 7540 score look like an EVGA FTW 1080 that has any issues?

Dude; I ran Time Spy with this new (thermal pad mod) EVGA FTW 1080. I clocked it up to +125 core/+400 memory and it had no issues. Could probably take more but I didn't try as I'm happy with a graphic score that is now over 8K.
Overall Time Spy score of 7584 with a nice stable OC core clock of 2088 MHZ.
