Mike switch validation to extreme OC

And it will stop monitoring these:

For less chance of freezing and a lot less resource use.

You're welcome, maybe you'll be able to use less voltage then? Just for the bench.

Yeah I did have to up it twice because CPU-Z would crash Windows....

But what helped me go a lot further was turning off Aura sync, otherwise I was freezing either on the desktop, or Windows load screen to get to 5.5GHz
Look how much CPU it uses(I'm back to 5.0GHz)
    Attachment 215023

Oh and switching to eXtreme OC keeps the validation from freezing too.
Cliff Asus Aura has issues with high CPU cycles on certain lighting effects. It's a known issue with RGB lighting in general but Asus have not figured out how to optimize it unlike others (think Corsair). I guarantee if you set it to the breathing effect the CPU usage for LightingService will drop to below 1%. Hopefully Asus catch on soon.

    Thanks for the information.
But, I don't like the breathing effect at all, it seems too "generic " to me

For what it's worth my choice of settings(I just need to remember to turn Aura off when I start using higher OCs)

    Thanks Kol
I couldn't get to finish at 5.5GHz though, even pushing my voltage up to 1.48V in BIOS(1.47 in Windows with LLC at level 6 or 7).
It would lock the system up, and I do not want to push the voltage further just for a benchmark and degrade the CPU(they are going to be hard to come by Intel Cutting Retail Processor Supply for Holiday 2018 | TechPowerUp ).

But 5.4GHz on 8 cores is respectable, specially when using a Z370 board I guess.
That's Impressive man i am so late to the party

Thanks Tommy, it got even better last night, with 5.584GHz @ 1.367V.
I'm now itching for 5.6GHz(with an AIO yet)
