Turn off offset in voltage until you find a higher OC, set it to Override.
Like I said cache ratio should be 300MHz lower than your CPU ratio, you have CPUr: 47x and CACHEr: 46x(44 would be better, getting to close to CPUr cause instability) so when you try for 48x(4.8GHz) set CACHEr to 45

This Multicore enhancement, what other choices do you have(so I'll know the equivalent to MSI's)You may need to raise your voltage, but do not go over 1.45(I only have 6 VRMs, but...).
You are only looking for a stabile OC, and then can turn on all the energy saving stuff later, and that will keep the system cool.
Make sure you only use High Performance power option when bench marking, and looking for a higher OC, but for daily use, switch to Balanced(all setting set the exact same as High Performance, just that minimum CPU freq. is set to 5%

Also when looking for an OC turn off speedstepping(leave EIST on so Turbo Boost will work).

@OldMike65, take a look here too: The Kaby Lake overclocking guide
It's for Kaby lake, but I suspect the BIOS is about the same on the 270 boards, as they are on the 170's.
At least my last BIOS Z170A update was to support the Kabylake chips.
It updated me 3 BIOS higher:
    - Enhanced M.2 Genie function.
    - Improved Board Explorer function.
    - Improved NVME device compatibility.
    - Updated VBIOS and GOP.
    - Support multi graphic cards
    - Supported next generation new Intel CPU.
    - Improved PCIE compatibility.
    - Improved SAMSUNG 950 Pro NVME compatibility.
    - Updated Microcode.
    - Updated VBIOS and GOP.
    - Improved memory compatibility.

I will look at that info Cliff, do appreciate all the help and your suggestions. I am back at 4.7 GHz for the time being. A lot of the info I've been reading, so far, is things I've already done...or tried. It also could be something I've just missed too. Or this Chip ...just don't want to run at x48 :) Or ....something to do with my memory.
Anyhow Cliff, just wanted to thank you.
I'll in for a Huge snow storm starting tomorrow afternoon into Monday. 16" to 24" of snow, with wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Should be an interesting 2 days. Talk with ya later.

    I just had a really bad scare!Attachment 120746

After I turned the three cores off, and ran my last validation, I wanted to boot back into BIOS, but it showed a blank screen!Attachment 120751

I tried both MSI Fast Boot and delete spamming, but it was always black.

Turned the system off, turned the power switch off, held the start button for a while, no help....Attachment 120748
Note: I had no problem booting into Windows with the single OC'd core, just couldn't get into BIOS, I though maybe a CMOS corruption, as I had made many changes at once, and that has happened before, but I could get back into BIOS and set the last good configuration.

Needed a CMOS jumper, so went to the store where I got my machine and buy parts, but they didn't have a jumper or sell them, so he recommended, just take the battery out(a PITA on my setup)... (I left my machine unplugged during this time)

I then went grocery shopping before coming home, turned on the machine so I could get my updated BIOS to flash after resetting, for the hell of it, I spammed delete, and....

    It went into BIOS!!!Attachment 120750

Question: If I ever need to, can I just short the jumper pins with a small screwdriver, or is it safer/better to just take out the CMOS battery even though that's a real pain in the butt .

    Dude please Email me that
