Just curious, how may volts was your Vcore?
Although it's not voltage like many think that can kill a CPU its amps and they jump up under load.
While learning to under volt my CPU with offset, I first used the minus sign and booted into Windows and it was 1.65V, I rebooted into BIOS and change the sign to plus and my voltage dropped in the other direction down to 1.30V.
So even though the voltage was way too high it didn't hurt any thing as I didn't even try to open a browser.

I think i fried my 7900X, and or my X299 board. I don`t get anything on the monitor anymore, and the monitor works fine.

I get a no DP signal detected, or a no HDMI signal detected message on the monitor.

Put a 980 Ti in there, same thing.

I`m so mad at myself for trying to run benchmarks.

My CPU was hitting 90+ during Cinebench.

I was only scoring 4500 running Heaven where as you guys are scoring nearly 7000 points, I just don`t understand it.
Sorry to hear this Brian, hope you find a fix for this issue. Hope your chip is not fried.....

I really think maybe taking the CPU out and re-flashing the BIOS should be tried.
Intel CPU's, specially Skylake and above, have so many fail safes built in, unless you are extreme overclocking, it's nearly impossible to fry a chip.

Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file X299TUF1.CAP using BIOSRenamer.':
You can just right click the Bios files name and rename it to X299TUF1.CAP without the tool.

There`s really nothing I can do when I get "DisplayPort NO SIGNAL" or "HDMI Port NO SIGNAL" on the screen.

The Asus monitor works perfectly fine, so that was a big relief

I`m sure the Zotac works fine, because I put a 980 Ti in there and I got the same message.

Although I don`t want to, I will test the Zotac on the Z170, but dam it I just cleaned that rig

Then the last step will be to swap some memory sticks, I have the same exact Corsair kits in both PC`s

If none of that works, well than I`ll have a $1500 surprise

I could just buy a new Asus TUF X299 Mark 1 and a 9900X from Newegg and just swap the parts.

But I don`t really don`t see a good reason to pursue that when you guys are hitting 5 GHz with mainstream boards and cpu`s out of the box.

    Hi,
Usually gpu driver crash causes that no display stuff.

Na the GPU driver was working fine.

It was just when I tried to OC the video card, or when I applied Cliff`s profile, I would get a "Out of Range" message on the screen. I managed to fix it once by tinkering with the monitor for what seemed like over a half hour.

Then when I tried to OC the card again, it did the same thing again, and I tried for hours but I could not fix it.

Because I get nothing on the screen anymore.

Other than the Asus ROG flash on the screen, then it gives me the no input message.

    Hi,
x299 has Input voltage if left on auto will product 2.0v easily way more than needed and 1.9v is usually too much for based turbo clock.

Auto vcore well it depends really on default turbo shouldn't be anything near 2.0v
I believe this is 4.6 a long time ago

Ya you can`t even try to go over 4.6 with the 7900X and that`s what I was running it at, and it seemed fine.

That didn`t seem like a problem at all, it was the GPU OC that seemed to cause the problem.

I had a 2800 MHz XMP profile on the memory and had the cores synced to 4.6, that`s all I did in the Bios, no other changes.

    Hi,
Doubt the 980ti would of made any difference seeing the driver is the same

You have to try a clean install or something similar is safe mode....

Darn that was a 5930k screen shot on my last post preview was impossible to tell
