Mine is SP 63 too. SP 63 is above average. SP 80-100 are the best. It's not all about the SP though, even SP 63 chips are known to overclock very well. It can be hard to get the cache clock (ring) high on the 10900K and most top out at 46-47 but see what you can do.

These 10900K have Thermal Velocity boost too Mike... You can get it to boost up to 5.5Ghz under the right conditions.
Well not sure what your talking about on "cache clock (ring) high on the 10900K" ??

But on another note Matt ...thinking of installing a EK Water block system ...which I have NEVER done before. So I'm going to post the link to the one I'm interested in for you to check out. Once I get this EK system what else do I need to buy to install this EK ....or does it have everything I need??

It's a great looking kit Mike, it includes all of EK's top of the line parts. That isn't a beginner kit, the pump and CPU block are the same as I have. That kit has everything you need to get up and running and you won't need anything else unless you decide to watercool the GPU as well in which case you would need a GPU waterblock. I would not hesitate to buy that kit... I would not use EK's cryofuel liquid but that is another matter...

It's bed time here for me but happy to help when I'm back online!

Well you know what the CPU cache clock is don't you? On CPU's like the 8700K it was easy to run cache clock multiplier as close to the CPU clock multiple as possible. On the 10900K that's no so easy.

What are you hoping to achieve with the custom cooling Mike? An EK block will get your CPU running a bit cooler than an AIO but not by a massive amount. The benefit over AIO is a more powerful pump with stronger head pressure on the CPU which can reduce you core temps. The 10900K can reach very high temps and the only real way to significantly reduce them is with delidding, liquid metal and/or direct die cooling.

I don't want to dissuade you, just want to make sure it meets your expectations... Custom cooling is a great investment and a lot fun. Watercooling the GPU is where you see the most performance from custom cooling.

I want to get this CPU to run cooler ....Water block should help me much better than my AIO .....so we might disagree on this.
Thought you were going to bed?? LoL

Some advantages over AIOs, Generally better heat exchanger on the CPU, AIO makers tend to skip on that. Second best is amount of coolant with reservoirs so less temperature variations and longer time to highest temps. Pump is not as important as too fast flow can prevent coolant from picking and releasing heat at both ends.

I want to get this CPU just a little cooler Mike ...I can't run @5.3 right now stable. Gets way to hot. Water block should help me.
