W10 1709 upgrade Macrium V7 errors -- but bootable version OK

    Hi folks
Getting "Unspecified error" on imaging W10 PRO 1709 with latest updates when using Macrium R7 Free. Bootable version (stand alone version) works just fine though.

Macrium V6 still working OK from Windows though -- so you might have problems with V7 of Macrium.

I'll wait a bit longer before upgrading I think. --Note you can't re-install Macrium V6 once you've installed V7. --you have to restore your system where V6 was installed on. I always take loads of backups before doing software upgrades - so no problem in reverting back to V6.

    Cheers

Sure you can reinstall V6 provided you have the appropriate reinstaller.

Your issue is almost certainly VSS related and more an issue with your PC.

Many of us have use V7 without any issues.

I upgraded my V6 (Paid version) to the free V7. I have the 1709 version and Macrium is working OK, no problems. I've done several full disc images with v7 since the 1709 upgrade.
