Startup Repair Couldn't Repair My PC

Guys please help I have a laptop and I've been having the blue screen of death recently and I don't know what's causing it. When I try to use automatic repair on advance options to fix the problem it gives me an error that startup repair couldn't repair my pc and I don't know if windows system restore can help me considering that I'm already having this issue even before I made a restore point and sfc /scannow now says it does not found any integrity violations on windows resource protection. I don't want to reformat and lose all my files and programs so please do not suggest that. The only thing that I know can cause this to my laptop could be a corrupted windows update but I don't know which one because all my programs right now on my laptop are the same on my previous laptop and none of them are causing any blue screen on my older laptop so it can't be my 3rd party programs right.? If you can help me please let me know step by step what I need to do because I'm not good with tech stuff.

Do you have access to another PC? If so, I suggest you install Macrium Reflect Free, create a bootable Reflect repair disk and run the option Fix Boot Problems.

You could also create KYHI's repair disk on this forum and use that to repair your PC. This disk contains Reflect and many other options. See Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable Rescue Disk

In the Advance Option do you have the Recovery option to setting it back to factory default. that's putting it back to the day you bought it.
Doing that is tedious cause all the updates.
Like Steve asking, if you have another PC, Download Windows 10
Clean Install Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials
Mine crash on Friday, Advanced Option Didn't have the option to factory default.

dacoolmike, if your data is important, please get any reliable external media of your choice (I'm using 2 1TB platter-driven pancake-size USB ext hard-drives for each of my computers), as a previous poster indicated, get Macrium Reflect or any backup / restore / clone program of your choice. On a 2nd computer, make both a USB and DVD boot of that b/r/c program, portable version, and create full images of your Data partition on your chosen external media. Then, attempt troubleshooting the OS.

Click Advanced Options at Startup Repair screen. From Advanced Options. Open System Restore tool and restore your computer to a date where you were able to boot your computer with Windows 10.

If you cannot restore your system using System Restore tool follow below instructions.

Please type below command into Command Prompt and press Enter key.

Following command will fixes errors on the disk and locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.

    Code:
    Chkdsk D: /r

Please replace partition letter D: with Windows installed partition letter. When computer boots into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment the drive letter assign to Windows partition may not be C: drive letter because Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 and 10 creates a separate system partition when it's installed from scratch. The system partition contains boot files WinRE assigns the system partition the C: drive letter and the Windows installed partition will be assign any other drive letter usually D: drive letter is assign to Windows installed partition. The Bcdedit /enum | find "osdevice" command can be use to find out the drive letter of the Windows installed partition the output of the Bcdedit command is similar to this osdevice partition=D:. The drive letter after partition= is the drive letter of the Windows partition.

Please type below command into Command Prompt and press Enter key.

The following command scans integrity of all protected Windows system files and repairs files with problems when possible.

    Code:
    Sfc /Scannow /OFFBOOTDIR=D:\ /OFFWINDIR=D:\Windows

Please replace partition letter D: with Windows installed partition letter. When computer boots into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment the drive letter assign to Windows partition may not be C: drive letter because Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 and 10 creates a separate system partition when it's installed from scratch. MrHudson: I don't want factory default because that means losing all my files and programs.

    RolandJS: I don't have a 2nd computer unfortunately.

FreeBooter: when I type Chkdsk D: /r it says Cannot open volume for direct access. My drive D is a DVD RW Drive.

You need to input the partition letter that is assign to Windows OS installed partition.

Please have look at the output of the Bcdedit /enum | find "osdevice" command to find out assigned partition letter for the Windows 10 installed partition.

As you can see from above screenshot it displays that the C: is the assigned partition letter for the Windows 10 installed partition.

There are 4 general methods that you can use to fix your PC:
    1) use the onboard windows advanced troubleshooting menu
    2) use a bootable windows 10 iso windows advanced troubleshooting menu
    3) use a boot rescue
    4) use an external HD enclosure to move your files to another drive

Which methods have you tried relative to #1?
    a) system restore
    b) startup options > safe mode with command prompt
    c) command prompt > Administrator X:\Windows\system32.exe >
    d) reset with save files

Have you made a bootable windows 10 iso?
The iso consumes approximately 4 GB
If you don't have another computer you can have a friend, neighbor, relative, etc. make this flash drive to use on the malfunctioning computer

So update guys I dont have a 2nd pc nor know anyone of my neighbors that has one considering most of them are either too old to use one. Right now a program of mine is having a problem as well my Camtasi Studio 8.1 suddenly stopped working it has an error "Faulting application name: CamtasiaStudio.exe, version: 8.1.2.1327, time stamp: 0x51e8dfedFaulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.16299.15, time stamp: 0x2cd1ce3d
Exception code: 0xe0434352" so I decided to update it in hopes to fix the problem by reinstalling it and going for Camtasia 9 but when I click the application nothing happens and an error "Application: CamtasiaStudio.exeFramework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

I saw a post about Logitech webcam device can sometimes caused this issue and uninstalling them might solve the problem but I'm not sure if that is the case and I don't want to do that. I'm planning to do a windows reset with files will that help delete any corrupted files on system32 and windows update as well as corrupted registry files please reply thanks.
