    is windows 10 file history going to be removed in fall update?

    Note that it's expected Windows 7 Backup and Restore will disappear- but as you know, that's quite different to File History.

    History has been incorporated into Edge....brilliant.....if you don't clear history it goes back as far as you want, listing times and dates to the minute.

    Ok thanks, don't see it listed/deprecate; I quite like file history hope it will stay.

    The title is not as intriguing as:

    I use Windows 7 Backup on my machine. It would be horrible if they remove it.

    There's no 'X' in the 'Removed' column, so it should still be there in the Fall, but it's only a stay of execution as Microsoft do say...
    We recommend that users use full-disk backup solutions from other vendors.

    A new feature called Timeline was originally supposed to appear in the Fall, which seemed to do the same job as History, and them some more. But it's been postponed, apparently...
    “Timeline won't be in the Fall Creators Update,” says Microsoft executive Joe Belfiore. “We're planning for it to be in early insider builds shortly after Fall Creators Update is out.”

    It does not seems to me that timeline has anything to do with file backup,
    i hope it's just a new feature and not a file history replacement ...

    I'd agree based on the little I've read.

    The problem with relying on MS utilities is they have an irritating and repeated habit of removing things one uses from OS build to OS build. Like Outlook Express and Win Mail, and some multimedia programs.

    My policy is to use 3rd party solutions for key functions.

Ok.. when I type in something in the address bar... it starts putting up past addresses as "suggestions". So I did the normal history deletes, then data deletes, then everything but saved password deletes.. still there. So.. I installed a DIFFERENT...
I would like to be able to either turn off and / or clear the history pane that appears on the right side of each contact in the People App. I've searched and searched and cannot find any way to accomplish this. I must be missing something simple?...
I've used gpedit to allow manual control of updates and manually download and install updates when available, and I set "Notifiy to download" option. That gave me control similar to what I had with Win7. Or so I thought. But the Reliability...
