    Macrium Reflect...Disk Partitions query...

I finally persuaded my friend to start performing Backups (using Macrium Reflect Free).

However, I'm confused about the large number of partitions showing on his system- see the attached screenshot.

The backup runs successfully, but I wondered if anyone could explain why there are 6 partitions and whether all of them are necessary, or whether some action is required to make some adjustments.

A reasonable guess would be that the last is a manufacturer's recovery partition.

The second is your Fat32 EFI partition; C: is of course Windows.

There is typically a FAT32 EFI partition, 100Mb, a Recovery partition, 450Mb, and a 16Mb System partition for a GPT UEFI system.

A partition manager gives more information as you can see, and would help. There you will see two Win 10 Recovery partitions, which sometimes happens after an upgrade.

I would guess, given the used size, that your 3rd is the System partition. However Macrium shows your first as System. That I suspect may be a leftover. Compare:

    no 'System' partition.

Looks OK to me, mine is pretty much identical. Macrium shows up one more partition than Windows Disk Management, Partition 3. does not show up.
The one in Red 6. is the manufacturers recovery partition.
    Nothing to do, no worries.

Ok, thank you guys, I'll leave things alone and just encourage him to perform regular backups.

If you wish to dig deeper into which partition is the currently used Recovery partition, you can use the
    BCDEDIT and reagentc /info
    commands.
