    File history Issues

    WIN 10 ver 1703
File history is not updating. The display says last updated at a specified time (A). It has been set to run hourly and appears to run but no updates are recorded in the File history window an d only the update refered to above (A) is shown.
I deleted File history and rebuilt from the start but the issue continues?

    Any thoughts

I've just checked mine and its OK, running version 1703 build 15063.332 Mine updates every 15 minutes. Sorry, that doesn't help much I know, only to show that there isn't a common issue with the current build.

I have my own backup procedures plus I make regular system images, so for me File History is my 'fall-back' backup method. I have it set for a daily back up of my most important folders to a network drive. I set it up a long time ago and just left it to get on with it.

You can get a better idea of how it has been working by going to the Control Panel. Open File History there and click on 'Restore personal files'. This opens a custom Explorer window where you can scroll back in time and see when and what was backed up.

Mine now shows 100 back ups, the first being 16th Oct 2016 and the latest 3rd Jun 2017. It obviously survived the upgrade from 1607 to 1703 unaided because I certainly haven't touched it since I set it going. I'm currently on 1703, os build 15063.332.

It's noticeable that there are gaps in the dates. As far as I can make out these correspond to days when none of the original files had changed. It would appear that File History only runs when there are modified or new files that need backing up. Could this explain why yours has apparently not run for a while?

    File history issues

Had been working well incl in v1703.
I deleted everything and started anew. It now backs up on manual instruction but not so automatically.
I'm considering using EASUS TODO as an alternative.
