How do you name a Macrium backup

How do you name a Macrium backup? So it's not all letters and numbers I named my second backup with a couple of different words. But I can only tell it apart by the date even finding that would be useful. Thank you in advance.

Go to where the file copy is located, right click the file and click on "Rename" in the resultant context menu. Name it anything you like.

You mean after the backup? Does that not cause conflict with Macrium? When you go to restore the image, I know the slightest thing you do with Acronis does. Albeit two different software's it sounds like it would.

On the first screen that appears after you click to Image this disk:

How do you name a Macrium backup-capture.jpg

Make sure the "Use the Image ID as the filename" check box is NOT checked, and enter your desired filename in the box below it.

No, it causes no conflict. When you restore an image all you have to do is browse for the filename that you want to restore. Macrium is a much more flexible program than the others. My filenames are a description of the computer followed by the date the image was made, IE: John-Laptop-041917.

Now, the only thing is that if you are saving the image to a FAT32 partition it will split the image up to fit into the file size limitations of the filesystem. So you may end up with XXX-001, XXX-002, XXX-003. Then you have to leave the sequence numbers at the end intact, and the files in the series must be named the same at the front.

This is how I name mine. I use the first word for the Computer name and for each computer they are in their own folder.

Also in advanced options you can have comments and when you look at the list in the restore process it will display the
    comments.

Selecting your preferrred name is standard for imaging programs.

[Afaik, it is only Windows System image that doesn't have a method for doing that prior to creation, though you can rename them after.]

Let's use one of my three computers as an example:
    20170415_YT0_C_S03 or 20170415_TSCII1_S03
20170415 is the date of the backup
_YT0 is from the serial number of HD (from device mgr)
    OR
_TSCII1 -- one of two dedicated usb external 1TB pancake-sized HDs
_C -- commonly called "c drive", which is really OS partition C
_S03 -- is the computer number
That's what I use; I do not let MR keep logs; easier just to search for images.
