Unfortunately, that little "Backing Up" piece is what has been eatrting at my soul for a few months now, VSS kinked my MR7, then lost my backups when trying to move all to my new external drive, and it's been down hill since then. I have 456GB in a BU partitionm from MR7 and and another 513gb of what MR7 has collected, I will need to explore what is there, But, I could really just unplug all but C: and F;F, the only internal memory going here.

I am feeling sorry for myself and work, and whoever expects muxh from this beatdog today, and why am I laughing at my sorry state....
I'll come back for more lashes in 12hrs or so.....Today should be a joyride.....
Thanx though f14TC at least you got her just in time to pull my finger off the pin.
    and turned the frown, upsidedown.
OhMoma, Is this really the end?

You can always use Explorer to copy your folders/files somewhere else. Slow, possibly tedious, but effective. There's always a way.

See ya in 12hrs or so..... (get some sleep....)

    Your Visitor Message to me

    @Lambert58

I've posted your Visitor Message you sent me this morning (5:00 a.m - 4/13/2017) in order to better work with it. It's difficult, if not nearly impossible, to respond effectively using Visitor Messages, or PM's. Hope you don't mind. Here is the text of your message:

Hey TC, I'm stepping way outside my zone here, and not sure this is even OK, I was going to send you a pm, but this looked easy. So, I gave up after that last all nighter and I think MS is releasing Creator to all, just to end my misery, maybe. Thought I'd take your advice and that was about the 3rd or 4th, and was creating space, and BANG, here come creator. Never solved the VSS issue, and I just sucessfully D/L the Creator .ISO to USB. While it's not a backup, at least it a copy of the currrent os. What are the chances of the install taking care of my VSS issues and finally allow me to utilize MR7, and have a real B/U plan in place. Anything special I should do, that would assist in my washing out the VSS issue? Any tut's or posts that may be more targeted than others I should follow? I hate to bother you, and if this is unwanted or not approved, MEA CULPA, I scanned a bit and didnt see it to be an issue, not trying to share my pain with you, just trying to dump some of it so I can get back to a reguilar sleep sched.I spent several hours, yup, another sleepless night prepping my MSOffice 13 for the change, only to, yup, pull it all out to free up precious C: GB's, I mean, why walk around a rock wall when if you just bang your head against it long enought it will eventually crumble. The fun is finding out which crumbles fist, the rocks, or my head.

You know it balances on your head just like a
Mattress balances on a bottle of wine

To answer your question, or try to, if you got the ISO for the Creators Update, I would strongly recommend to make a bootable media, thumb or DVD, and do a clean install.....NOT update your system as it is. Clean install. Copy all your personal data (files, pics, vids, etc.) onto an external media of your choice and disconnect it. Then do a complete clean install following the instructions in this tutorial. When doing the Clean Install, delete every partition on the drive, ALL of them, until you have one big un-allocated partition. That is where you want to install, on the big un-allocated. Windows will create all the partitions it needs. When all done and activated, back it up so you have a "virgin" clean OS to fall back on if needed. Then, copy all your personal data back onto the drive and install any apps/progs you need. Please ask if you have any questions at all about the procedure. There are many members here who have done this a number of times, and are very familiar with the process.

Looking forward to hearing from you.....TC

    Cleaning out C:
    All the photos/vid/music is moved.
User Profiles, I know I cant, or should not, so am not, moving them.
In C: Users I have Admin, Guest 15bytes, Public 242bytes, My own 35.5MB, can clean some, Default.migrated 0, Default 256k, AppData has in it Roaming w. dvdfabconfig regfile for same, and Administrator 264MB w/o images, video, personal data that I am aware of.
where to find my bookmarks from firefox not in my non-exiatant tool folder in exploree.

PLUS, I better take this guy off line, or, do I. Will Creator be shoved down my pipe, it's 9:30PST already? if the computer and internet are on? The tablet is a droid, so, just sayin. Still gotta try to move or lose some stuff, Bottom line, seems if C: were wiped right now, would just lose programs and prog data for the most part. Some SW I have copies, some long gone.
