@hbenthow - you are taking into consideration what would happen should your restore software fail, which is good. Have you considered what will happen if the drive the backups are stored on should physically fail?

I may take that into account later, although I do not consider it a main concern at this point.
Have been using Macrium for some time without problems, to backup Windows. Now I would like to know if it will backup a dual boot system, specifically Windows 1909 and Ubuntu 20.04. Has anyone had issues doing this?

How do I set up an external HDD to be used for system image backups? For example, specify how many images to keep, schedule the backup, etc. also, can I use the drive for anything else other than image copies?
If you ask me, Macrium Reflect should be obligatory, first application installed after installing Windows 10.
