I must have missed that...or it seemed more difficult at the time. I seem to recall booting into safe mode once & having trouble with the commands. Thanks again for pointing it out!

Although I knew about it, I never used it myself. My first instinct is that while such fixes can work, there may be unintended consequences later on when Microsoft get round to an official fix. Maybe something I did would conflict with it? Anyway, I had an alternative to System Restore, I regularly made system images and restoring an image was almost as quick as a system restore.
In my case the official Microsoft 'fix' turned out to be the upgrade to Creators Update :)

Works perfectly. Did exactly as written and I was able to login without any issues. Saved me about a hundred hours and a lot of bandwidth that would have been spent redownloading all the software. Allowed me to meet my deadline, which was most important

I have these questions:
1) since in the CU the issue seem to be fixed, there will be a patch for the Anniversary too?
2) if I keep continue to do my snapshot like Always, and a day I will need to use a system restore point, it will be working if I simply go inside the computer with a live cd, go inside the WindowsApps folder, delete the two Get Office related folders, and then go in Safe Mode and start the recovery system restore point tool? Or it won't work?
3) will the deleting of MicrosoftOfficeHub folders will damage something related to my Office 2013 and OneDrive user (i.e. I will cannot more save into OneDrive etc.?)?Last edited by Pipppero2007; 03 Jun 2017 at 12:17.

Hi Pipppero2007, the best thing you can do is to install the CU, that fixes the problem. I nearly sure that simply doing the WindowsApps folder fix will enable Restore for an image created before the fix is applied. In other words I don't think it's retroactive. If you don't want to upgrade to the CU then you really need to be creating full image backups using something like Macrium, either free or paid, to an external drive. Sooner or later your going to need to do a full restore and Macrium, or a similar product, is much more reliable than the Windows System Restore.

BTW, I am starting to use Macrium anyway, in the past I used live cd that make disk images but Macrium is faster than the other.

Scenario:
I uninstall Get Office
I go into Windows PE and delete all the folders that are MicrosoftOfficeHub (I have three)
I restart Windows and I make a snapshot.
1) It should now work?
2) What time this workoround will last until I will have that error?
3) that folders "OfficeHub_etc.etc." under WindowsApps are useful for my Office 2013, OneDrive or their relanshionship with each other? I can delete without any pain or fear?

But I don't understand why you want to use System Restore if you're making backups with Macrium. It seems that Macrium is a much better choice. If you want to use System Restore then why don't you upgrade to the CU since that solves the System Restore issue.
Regarding the safety of deleting the OfficeHub_etc folders, I think that it will PROBABLY won't damage Office nor OneDrive but I don't think anyone can be definitely sure that there will not be unintended and unpredictable consequences. I would not do this to a system that I needed to be reliable. I think it's unnecessarily risky since you have two alternatives that are safer, Macrium and the CU.

Macrium i need a licence (password missing feature).
Cu i still dont trust.
If that folders "OfficeHub" under WindowsApp are related only to Get Office, once I uninstall that app, and i remove the still remained folders that strangely it doesnt delete (maybe old?) what i will harm in my system?
This OS is my most important so sorry if i still make these questions.

Macrium has a free version that many of the members of this forum use. It allows you to make full image backups as well as differential backups. Most people do not buy the full version as the free version has all of the features that you need. If you do that then you can make a full image backup then make the WindowsApps folders fix. Then if it creates a problem then you can restore your System from the image backup. If the WindowsApps fix works for you and you're willing to take the chance that down the road you discover that something else is broken, then you're problem is solved.
