    Cloning

I have a 2 TB HDD that I am cloning to a 2 TB SSD. The HDD is going bad. It takes a lot of time for the computer to boot up. That is the reason why I am cloning to a 2 TB SSD.

It took over 24 hours for Reflect to complete the cloning and it says it cloned successfully.
Could this be normal time? I am worried that even though it said it cloned it successfully that it still doesn't boot.

I have cloned many HDDs in the past and it usually takes 3-4 hours for a 1 TB drive.

You cloned a failing hard drive. There can be no real predictions of the result.

If it has bad blocks and you clone it will write bad blocks to the new drive which cant be reversed

Does Macrium detect bad blocks and flag them and report that the cloning was unsuccessful?

That just means what is working is not yet corrupted, not the condition of the drive.

For cloning I use a 2-bay drive dock with the feature built in that CANNOT be connected to a computer and does byte for byte cloning. However, the Source drive has to have no file errors so they have to be corrected first.

Have you tried booting from a Macrium Reflect rescue USB flash drive with the SSD installed in the computer and run the utility under the restore menu to Fix Windows boot problems?
