There is the XCOPY /L switch which lists the files to be copied - this will be exceedingly long if copying an entire drive!!! There is also the /F switch which lists the files as they are copied.
I just used FreeFileSync to copy 1.5 TB of movies from network storage to USB 3 external drive and it did it in one 12 hour long session. Just make sure the sync is set for one direction only, source to destination.
