    Hi,

That's not going to help as that does not have the proper partition layout either. That's exactly why I said that you shouldn't install on a preformatted partition.
Windows 10 then does not create the proper partition layout.

I could work around this but it's going to be quite lengthy and complex.

I'm thinking about doing a system image restore of the clean install that I did, and starting all over again.

    Hi,

If it already is Fat32 formatted then there is no need to reformat. If NTFS then yes.
Using disk management or diskpart it should also be flagged as active.
After that you'll need to download the correct iso file from the link I provided.

When the download has finished let me know and keep a copy of the download somewhere safe on one of the external drives.

OMG, it's telling me that its going to take 7hrs. 35 min. to down load that iso to that 128 GB flash drive. Now what? This is really getting to suck big time.

In reality it will probably take less than that. Still we are going to need it and you may need it again later on.

Just let it download , Nick. We'll pick up things again tomorrow. Don't worry.

After it is, can you install from an ISO file?

No, we'll be creating the install media on the 128 Gb USB drive after that. It's relatively straightforward.

Mount the iso file by double clicking it, select all files, copy and paste onto the USB drive and you're done.

Nick, are you sure you made a backup using Macrium of the first VHD that's on your Seagate drive?
If you have time could please mount it and take a screenshot of its contents and post it here?

See screenshot #3 on page #22 post #213.

Reason I ask is that is seems too small to be a Recovery partition.

Well I'm at 14% to the 128 GB dive of the iso image, you make it sound like I should be downloading to C:

    Hi,

Ok, my mistake, let it finish copying to the USB drive and we'll move it to somewhere else later on if necessary.
It does no harm other then that it's probably slower writing to USB than to an internal disk.
