System won’t Reset to factory settings

Hello. There a few problems with my hp laptop running on windows 10 and would like to perform a factory reset.
However even after deleting all apps and files off the system. A warning error states I must clear 2GB worth of items. Although this does seem possible. Would really like to solve this does anyone have any advice?!
    Thank you

Hi, you might try an in-place upgrade repair install rather than a factory reset.

A factory reset will probably take you back to an older build of Win 10, which you would then upgrade again. Plus you will lose all data and programs.

An in-place upgrade repair keeps all progs and data and most settings.
To do that you need around 30Gb free on C: Not that this will not repair problems specific to a user profile.
For that you need an iso file of the same build you have now (which you've not stated).
    Tutorial available.

Another thing you might consider: rather than perform a factory reset, you can clean install Win 10 - and have none of the trialware which may have come with the PC. Tutorial available.

    There are other reset options:
    Reset Windows 10

If you wish to recover space on C: see
Free Up Drive Space in Windows 10

The tutorial section is well worth using- you are free to browse and search it.

How do many members protect their installation so as to often avoid doing something so radical?
Routinely use disk imaging - then you can restore Windows or any imaged partition to a previous good state - and have a full backup- even if the PC is unbootable or the disk needs replacing. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + external storage for image files.
