After thoroughly digesting all the various scenarios surrounding the new Macrium update, configurations encountered, and possible outcomes, I've come to the conclusion Macrium patch updates will ask for a re-boot on a whim of unknown origin.

Boot here. CBT not enabled and running build 18334 (Fast). I believe just about every MR update I've ever had, I had to reboot.

    First post updated.

No request for reboot here, and using free version.

So TC is correct with "on a whim" I'm using the free version and did receive a reboot request.

It might depend on what's running in the background, or if any shared libraries(.dll) are in use at the time

17763.316, No scheduled tasks, CBT enabled and got a reboot request. If it's not due to CBT, then I tend to go with Cliff's approach for probable dll lock at the time of installation.

Tnx. Updated. I was checking for updates to it and other programs just yesterday and it wasn't available.
    PS.
On Skippy it asked me to reboot but not in 1809.
Quoted myself just to remind of what happened.
Skippy has boot menu RE and disk with 1809 doesn't, that may have made the difference.
