Acronis is permanent Betaware. Used it for years and then in parallel with Macrium free. Absolutely no comparison. Check out the Acronis forums, nightmare after nightmare.

Then why do people still use it because they paid for it? I bought software which later I found a better cheaper or free version and still ditched the paid software when it got terrible or was never updated again.

The old versions were pretty good. They then changed ownership and became betaware. Each update corrected the problems of the prior update and charged users for the update. Lots of features and for a while a lack of competition. Never happier once I discovered Macrium. Still have my paid Acronis versions (uninstalled of course)

Yeah I gave up with 2013 version which had serious uefi bugs, and we waited ages for a fix, and it never came until 2014 version and the cheeky blighters wanted an upgrade fee.

Contrast this with Macrium Reflect which is about to give Home users a significant upgrade for free.

I do expect a version 8 to come out sooner or later but they do not do major upgrades like confetti. V7 was released in Feb 2017 and V6 back in 2015. We seem to get at least two years between major versions which is fairly reasonable.

With super support in between, a la the "Skippy Caper Midnight Patch".
