New Macrium Reflect Updates Solved

  1.    #2191

Now I just have one last problem: I have a hidden folder leftover on an external drive I need to get rid of. It was made when I initially tried to robocopy all the data over from the old data drive, and just used H: as the source instead of specifying all the folders I wanted copied. Consequently, robocopy copied over the recycle bin and hid the folder I was copying to. I cannot get it to show in Windows Explorer in order to delete it. However, if I type the path in manually, I can get inside the folder and delete all the data in it. I tried option #10 here, but it didn't unhide the folder.
Set or Unset Hidden Attribute of Files and Folders in Windows 10

    confused, yes...

    EDIT:
Never mind - once I had deleted everything in the folder, it finally showed up as hidden in Windows Explorer, so I could delete it!

It appears that anyone still using v7.1 may have problems after upgrading to the May 2019 Update, version 1903. Twice now the same error has been reported.

I try to do a back up and it starts off doing so and then I get an error code 9.
Cannot do System Image After Win10 Install of 1903

Win 10.1809 updated to 1903 via WU. I get the same error whether I image from Windows or by bootable flash.

I wonder why people are still using old versions of MR.

I just submitted a ticket to Macrium about my problem with rescue media, it just doesn't work when booted to it. They promised an answer within 72 hours but I was surprised that their forum accepts only members with payed versions. I love MR and was intending to purchase couple of licenses but what's the use if I can't use it properly. Very disappointing !!
Easus to do backup works fine and I'm about to try Acronis again. I'm afraid I cant recommend MR any more until this is solved. If it can stop working just because of new BIOS version it is not reliable and reliable backup is essential.

I can understand your frustration, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Yours may be an isolated situation that requires a specific fix, MR or otherwise. Macrium is still the best 3rd party backup solution on the market.

Yeah, I know it's best, that's why I'm trying to get it solved, most other SW behaving like that would end up as a sacrifice to Revo Uninstaller.
The problem is tied to BIOS version for new Ryzen processors and soon there will be thousands of those. Sales start July 7th and it promises to be very popular with performance at least tied with best Intel and at lower price. Since Ryzen came out, it now has 64% of CPU market. Macrium would be wise not to loose it.

Thanks, Count. That sums it up nice and tight. I probably have seen bits and pieces of the issue from your posts and elsewhere, but never really put that bottom line together. I can't see MR being blind to it, that would be a disaster for them.

They have responded to non payers before, people have posted on this forum about it.
I don't think it is unreasonable to limit access though.
They have offices and staff (just down the road from me in fact...) so they need to maximise their revenue stream.
Out of all the free services I use MR is probably at the top of the list of those I would pay for in future.
