    Hi folks

possible defect when running latest Macrium Free version with latest patch on the skippy - Windows - build (I think though might be more of a problem with File explorer).

After running backup to an external HDD (image backup) I can't remove the external HDD as it says device busy -- could be there's still a macrium service running or something. System needs re-boot to free the HDD. I've had some weird things with file explorer in this build so I'm not going to say it's a macrium defect - although it *could be* !!!!

    Cheers

I had exactly the same problem with the USBs on MR paid version. Could not safely eject. The latest 7.2.3825 fixed it, but this is on 1803 , not skippy.

It was the CBT. I know cause I disabled it before .3825 and all was fine.

    Hi there

A get around is re -try the operation about 2 mins later -- then it seems to work !!
problem occurs not only with Macrium . I suspect Windows file explorer and something with the I/O subsytem is broken in skippy.

Wait though until any LED's etc quiesce before attempting the eject hardware mechanism.

    Cheers

A small piece of the telemetry is spying on your I/O devices, and won't stop staring!

I just created a WinRE rescue media on a removable device. When I boot from that device the screen looks like this:

It is very low resolution, and there seems to be no way to change it - is this normal?

As long as it fills up the screen, what's there to complain about. No need for some high res. What's bad is when it goes far over the screen borders and can't see everything that it gets annoying.

Thanks. The right side of the screen is cut off, but it seems I can still choose different images if I want to restore one. Seems to be working, nonetheless.

Not much is cut off, still can see slider on the right, nothing is beyond that.

When you build your rescue media, select advanced options, and check box "enable legacy efi screen resolution support".

I had the feeling that I'd missed something!

"enable legacy efi..." - did you mean uefi?

If I wanted to, would I be able to recreate the rescue media on the same usb stick - thus replacing the original with the new one?
