I updated to 7.1.3196 (free) and created new USB rescue media. The rescue media works but the boot menu doesn’t. It hung on a black screen. Had to hold down the power button to restart the PC. I restored to an image I took yesterday using the rescue media. I’m running Windows 10 Home 64-bit v1803.
The issue that I reported with the boot menu appears to be specific to my PC and the Windows 10 v1803 update. After the restore I tried the boot menu with the previous Reflect version and the same thing happened. This is the first time I tried the boot menu since I upgraded to Windows 10 v1803 on Monday, so apparently it’s related. As a workaround I switched the boot menu from PE10 to PE5 and that works OK. Hopefully, when Macrium releases their new rescue media builder with WinRE it will fix the problem on my system.

Boot menu works OK for me on 1803. Have you tried removing and reinstating the boot menu?

Thanks. That was the first thing I tried but it didn’t help. Switching the boot menu to PE5 works, so I think I will wait for Macrium to release the new rescue media builder and see what happens. It’s supposed to offer some new options that could fix the problem. But even if it doesn’t, my understanding is that PE5 is OK for my system because it doesn’t require any of the new PE10 features. I already did a restore with PE5 and it seems fine.

Based on what Nick Sills from Macrium told us in our TenForums Saturday Live webcast last weekend (see this post), I was expecting to see the new Rescue Media Builder to be included in this update. Hopefully they will get it out soon.

I think the fix they had to rush out yesterday put that back a bit.

I have an update on my issue. I took your advice one step further. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Macrium Reflect and it fixed the problem. The boot menu now works with PE10.

Yes, not good. Probably won't affect many here because of CBT being limited to one Windows session.
