Considering that all versions I tried, on two OSs and none was able to be verified, I though that maybe my OC is making problems so I set all defaults in BIOS and am now making backup like that. will see if it verifies it. This is very curious happening. In mean time I tested all disks and all passed 100%.
Sure is a strange problem you got Mike, my rig is OC'd @ 49G's , and MR has never given my any problems.

I always OC-ed all rigs but never did this happen and to MR only. I'll recreate OC part by part to maybe find whats the problem, might look at RAM first, changed it just yesterday.

Just finishing verification of all backups and looks like all verified right except one I made when fully OC-ed.

Ok, I just have definite proof that any OC on my machine causes verification to fail. Only bone stock factory defaults in BIOS don't make problems. I OCed RAM and CPU separately and same result, no verification but backup works.
I'm going to give Easus ToDo Backup a try now.

That is still strange to me Mike, because my rig is always overclocked, memory & CPU and I've never had any problem with verification.

Hey guys, I have an honest question...

How many of you (give or take) bought a Macrium Reflect license & what reasons are there for one to purchase a license (versus just using the more than capable FREE edition) other than supporting the company?

I already took a look @ the MR v7 Edition comparison chart HERE and the only feature that would encourage me to jump to the Home Ed. would be the backup encryption & restore to dissimilar hardware (but I have another way of achieving the same result).

I am hesitant to purchase the license (even w/ the 20% off coupon) because coming from a Mac environment (which is still my primary OS), backup applications similar to MR -- such as SuperDuper! -- allow you to install on up too 3 Macs (or in some cases more). In contrast, the MR license is on a per PC basis. I would hope a license purchase would cover at least 3 PC in a home considering the $70 asking price.

Lastly, if I purchase a license and have to reinstall my OS (due to a BSOD or similar) or purchase a new PC, can I transfer the license over if I uninstall MR from the old PC?
The free version of MR these days is more than adequate for day to day use imaging your Windows partition. I first bought a licence for V4 when the free version was less useful indeed on my system at the time the recovery disk was Linux based and it was difficult to find the images to restore. I use the free version on my old laptop but I continue to use the paid version on my main system. Apart from inertia there are a couple of reasons for this.

    1. Fast delta restore which can restore a recent image in just a few minutes making system restore redundant for me.
    2. Image Guardian which is an added layer of security against ransomware or accidental destruction of the images

People may also wish to use incremental backups, encryption or use the File & Folder backup facilities in the licenced editions.
