Bug Fixes

• Synthetic Full re-started backup sets
  If all incremental images are deleted from a backup set with a synthetic full image, and the set is 're-started' by creating another Incremental then the error 'Invalid Parameter' would occur when mounting the Incremental image file. Additionally, a restore of this Incremental may result in the Full being restored. This has been resolved.

• ReDeploy improvements for NVMe host controllers
  When migrating a system to an NVMe booting device, ReDeploy required the user to specify vendor drivers for this hardware, even when the target OS has native support. This has been resolved.

• Macrium viBoot
  When running on systems that were configured in any language other than English, Macrium viBoot would sometimes fail to display information about virtual machines. This has been resolved

I gave it a trial on a small daily file & folder backup over a period of several months on Windows 7. Seems to work as advertised. I don't like using incrementals except in special circumstances so I wouldn't recommend it.

To me it seems a good strategy could be to use "incrementals for ever" with say 7 daily incrementals, but also do a weekly differential backup, doing a new full say monthly. Really depends hiw much granularity you require.

I do a weekly full and daily differentials. My daily differentials are timed with Redmond in mind (17:00), so I will do an incremental after any Windows update to have a before and after.

The whole idea behind incrementals for ever or synthetic fulls is that you do not need to keep doing full backups. For my PC, I keep the C drive lean and mean so doing so is rather a waste of time as a full backup only takes 10 minutes. I guess those tools are more geared for the corpy market.

Slow HDDs as well. That's why I was looking at it at the time but I chickened out of full implementation.

I have an incrementals forever setup for some things. I also use File & Folder Backup for some stuff, as I remember reading somewhere, that if you have any files over 4GB, that's how you recover them (not images).
