    New Macrium Reflect Update

    Macrium Reflect v7.0.2089
    21 March 2017

    Changelog version 7:
    What's New v7.0.2089 - 21st March 2017

    • Server Plus SQL Server 2016
Server Plus now supports SQL Server 2016 instances.

    Bug Fixes

    • Windows 7 - Reflect hang on startup
Some customers have experienced a hang when Reflect starts on Windows 7. This has been resolved.
    • Shut-down warning dialog not displayed
When scheduling backups with an automatic Windows shutdown at the end, the warning dialog wasn't being displayed. This has been resolved.
    • Network Error: Multiple connections
The error 'Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than a user name, are not allowed' could be shown when scheduled backups write to a network share. This has been resolved.
    • Backup progress not displayed
General improvements and fixes to the ReflectMonitor utility to display the progress of scheduled backups.
    • HKLM Registry permissions issue
Some customers have had problems saving default settings. This release will correct registry permissions and allow application defaults and settings to persist.

    • Note: If the 'Changed Block Tracker' icon in the disk view has been remaining grey on your system then this release should correct the problem after the next image is created.

    Macrium Reflect v6.3.1745

    24-February-2017

    Changelog version 6
    What's New 6.3.1745 - 24th February 2017

    • In-place upgrade to Reflect v7
This release improves on the previous release v6 to v7 upgrade experience by allowing v7 upgrade keys to automatically upgrade existing v6 keys.
    • Avast AV software problem
Improved handling of the problem caused by AV software. Failed execution of the Macrium Reflect executable will now show the correct Windows failure code in the Task Scheduler status.

    Bug Fixes

    • Technicians USB stick crash when adding drivers
When taking the option to add drivers to a Technicians USB stick from a foreign PC, a program error could occur. This has been resolved.
    • Server Edition Rescue Media
The Server Edition Rescue media would incorrectly show 'CMC Agent' as the edition and create a '.log' folder in the image location during an automated system restore. This has been resolved.
    • False error shown in the DOS command window
An incorrect error "CCBTBase::MapClusterRunToBitmap" was shown in the command prompt window when running Reflect from a DOS command prompt. This has been resolved.

I got that one today. I was shocked to see it since V6 out now. I'm waiting a while to see if there are any major problems before deciding if I want to shell out the shekels to upgrade my four license pack to v6.

I was going to update until I found out the update is $41.00. It's a little more than I want to spend at the moment.

Methinks you may be confusing updates and upgrades. The recent one I received today was an update for v5. The one you have to pay for is an upgrade from v5 to v6.

No, I'm not confused. to go from v5.3 to 6 they wanted $41.95 and it's more than I want to pay at this time.

You aren't paying attention. An UPDATE is not the same as an UPGRADE. MR recently issued an UPDATE for v5, which will NOT cost you. That was NOT an UPGRADE from v5 to v6, which will cost you. I just downloaded and installed the UPDATE earlier today just prior to making an image. My last image before today's was on 3/6 so the UPDATE came out sometime in the last four days.

I will not call a call a upgrade a update. I will not call a upgrade a update. Is that better?

I upgraded my 4-pack V5 Standard to a 4-pack V6 Home three weeks ago and haven't had any problems. They've already done some updates, so they're actively supporting and improving the product. Apart from the changed GUI, there are features that I haven't tried yet (including a rapid restore option), they now include Redeploy to different hardware in the Home edition (they no longer have a Pro edition), and they decided to drop the option to create a Linux Boot CD. They offer WinPE Boot creation by default now.

They don't seem to be in any hurry to release the Free edition.

For me personally 5Free works good enough, on my system it takes a little over 4 minutes(SSD->7400rpm HDD) for a complete image, and that's faster than the System imager in Windows 7 doing incremental. I'm definitely not complaining
